Whether Valentine’s Day snuck up on you or your previous plans have fallen through and you’re fretting over a new idea, these last-minute V-Day gifts are cheap, fun, and still ultra-romantic.

10 Last-Minute Valentine’s Day Ideas

1.     Get on the ice. If you’re looking for something unconventional but still romantic, take your date ice skating. If they have never been ice skating, you can be the expert and teach them, and if they know how already, you can learn a few pointers yourself.

2.    Buy a naughty card game. If you’re planning a quiet night in, consider a naughty game to spice up the Valentine’s Day festivities. There are card games, dice, and other various games that can take it from zero to steamy in no time.

3.    Visit a barcade. Another date that requires no planning is dropping into a barcade for a couple of hours. Perfect if you’ve recently started dating or for a person who loves video games, a barcade combines drinking and gaming for a fun night out.

4.    Write a heartfelt letter. Or twelve. Spice up dinner plans with this unique V-day gift. If you’ve run out of time for a purchased gift, are looking for something a bit more personalized, or are just on a tight budget, sit down and write your Valentine a heartfelt love letter. This type of gift is priceless.

5.    Find a supper-club event. A supper club is something of an underground restaurant or a restaurant that combines dining out with a social aspect. The best part about them is the unique dining experience. The second-best part is the affordability of high-end food.

6.    Buy a bath bomb gift set. Everyone loves a romantic spa night at home, and with a set of bath bombs, your Valentine can have a spa night whenever they want to. Plenty of bath and body stores have unique gift sets only offered for Valentine’s Day.

7.    Get flash tattoos. If you’re really feeling daring, take your Valentine to the tattoo parlor. Every parlor has a set of flash sheets, and they’re usually fairly inexpensive. If your significant other has ever mentioned getting tattoos or they already have tattoos, this could be an exciting bonding experience.

8.    Gift them pens, pencils, or art supplies. Don’t underestimate the appreciation for simple supplies. As far as pens and pencils, you can get them Valentine’s Day patterned and colored. You can also get Valentine’s Day themed notebooks and office supplies, too. If you can’t find them already Valentine’s Day themed, don’t hesitate to customize them for your partner.

9.    Go shopping. Who doesn’t love a shopping trip? Even if you keep the purse strings closed, window shopping at your favorite stores can be a whole lot of fun. Not particularly interested in shopping for clothes? Shop for home goods, furniture, or taste test all the specialty dessert stores you can find.

10. Fill a custom journal. Last but not least, consider filling a custom journal with all the details of your relationship. They make plenty of relationship-themed journals (think baby books, except for relationships), and filling one with all of your relationships’ special moments is one of the sweetest gifts you can give your partner.

Whether you choose to stay home or go out for Valentine’s Day, any one of the things on this list is sure to make your significant other smile.
