Quarantine Playlist

Stuck indoors? Bored? Already ate all of your disaster snacks? Well, now it’s time to turn up the tunes and have your own private dance party at your house. If you’re making a quarantine-specific playlist, then check out these ten songs.

They make being stuck inside a little less painful, I promise.

10 Songs Perfect for your Quarantine Playlist

1.     “I’m So Sick”  by Flyleaf. Is there really a more fitting song for a quarantine playlist? With lyrics like “I’m so sick, Infected with where I live,” you can’t help but think about how many people who are affected by COVID-19. Plus, thing song is a whole lot of fun to dance to!

2.    “Toxic” by Britney Spears. Nevermind that a Britney Spears song is on every playlist, you can’t make a Quarantine playlist without this early 2000s bop. If you’re not a fan of Britney’s upbeat tone, there are dozens of covers that are just as awesome.

3.    “In the End” by Linkin’ Park. Every lyric in this song is perfect for everything we’re going through right now. Sure, this song may have been over the top when it came out, but it was only because it was released two decades too early.

4.    “Hands to Myself” by Selena Gomez. The people who are really struggling during this pandemic are the single people and the people who love that Netflix and Chill lifestyle. I know it’s a real struggle, but right now, you have to keep your hands to yourself.

5.    “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” by The Police. A playlist isn’t complete without this new wave, pop-rock jam. Bring the 1980s back (and remind people of that 6 ft rule) with this classic tune.

6.    “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd. I’m pretty sure The Weeknd wasn’t talking about keeping germs at bay, but it still gets the point across, doesn’t it? And he also got another thing right, unfortunately: the worst has yet to come. Ride out the worst with The Weeknd’s smooth vocals and fun beat.

7.    “Work from Home” by Fifth Harmony ft. Ty Dolla $ign. As a person who’s worked from home, technically, for years, I didn’t get this song when I first heard it, but look. If you need to spice up your mandatory quarantine, this is the perfect song to have you and your partner reframing those work at home possibilities.

8.    “Dancing with Myself” by Billy Idol. Turn up with your own private dance party with this one. With nothing to lose and nothing to prove, stay self-quarantined and dance with yourself.

9.    “Stay Away” by Nirvana. Get your 90s grunge fix in with this early 90s hit. Kurt Cobain is good at getting the point across here. If you’re sick of telling people to back up, feel free to blast the chorus of this song at everyone not respecting the social distancing boundaries.

10. “Harder to Breathe” by Maroon 5. I don’t want to call Adam Levine out, but if it’s getting harder and harder to breathe, then he may need to get himself checked for the COVID-19 virus. But seriously, there’s only a matter of time before we’re all hanging boomboxes in our windows, asking if there’s anyone out there.

But on a serious note, this social distancing and mandatory quarantine is no joke. The better we are at staying indoors and keeping our germs (and hands) to ourselves, the quicker we’ll tame this virus and be able to restart our lives.
