What To Put On Your Wedding Registry

Have you been drumming your fingers on the counter, debating about what gifts you should add to your wedding registry? Are you nervous about budget and variety, too?

Don’t worry. This list compiles the nine must-have items for any couple getting married! Whether you decide to have an elaborate wedding or elope, a wedding registry is a necessity for anyone tying the knot.

9 Items You Absolutely Must Include in Your Wedding Registry

  1. Stand mixer. Priced around $200 - $500. The classic idea of a wedding gift, a stand mixer is a necessity in any baker’s kitchen. You can put away the handheld mixer on your wedding night if you add this gift to your registry.

  2. Vacuum cleaner. Priced around $150 - $400. The price of a good vacuum cleaner can be a couple hundred dollars, and it’s hard to justify that purchase when other bills are coming through. If you need a good vacuum cleaner for pet hair, allergies, or your peace of mind, don’t hesitate to add it to your list.

  3. Coffee maker. Priced between $75 - $200. If you’re marrying an avid coffee drinker or you like hot beverages, start your married life off right with a quality coffee maker. Don’t forget to add coffee cups to your list, too.

  4. Knife set.  These can get quite pricey. A quality knife set is a boon in any kitchen, but it can be really expensive if you’re not prepared to spend the money. Finally toss the knives you used in college out for trash with a new ten-piece knife collection.

  5. Luggage. Invest in a set for all the trips you plan to take with your significant other (hello honeymoon). A good luggage set is a necessary expense, but who wants to buy luggage? Add a high-quality, hard-sided, unique pair of suitcases to your registry, so you never have to worry about losing your bags at the airport again.

  6. Crockpot. Priced between $15 - $50. A crockpot is a must-have for working professionals, and if you’re adding this item to your list, spring for a larger one. If you have never used a crockpot, then you don’t know the joys of coming home to a warm cooked meal. It’s a feeling that can’t be topped, especially in the winter months.

  7. His and hers robes. Priced between $30 - $100 each. These aren’t a necessity by any stretch of the imagination, but having a nice set of his and hers robes makes everything better after a long day. Don’t hesitate to add a pair of high-quality robes to your wedding registry list.

  8. Pots and pans set. Priced between $80 - $180. Someone’s going to buy you a set of pots and pans. If I had to guess, it will be your great aunt. If you don’t want a floral set of dated cookware, then take the time to add a set you want to your list. Especially if you’re starting a theme for your kitchen or you already have a theme, go ahead and add matching plates, tableware, and cutlery at the same time.

  9. Casserole dish. Priced between $25 - $130. Even if you don’t use it, a casserole dish is a staple in anyone’s kitchen. This dish will be the dish you take to Thanksgivings and Christmases with the extended family, and the dish you cook the annual string bean casserole in. It may be tempting to leave the typical casserole dish off your registry, but it’s too special to forget.

Don’t forget to vary the price range for your guests! Everyone doesn’t have the budget for top-dollar items,  but they still will want to buy you something nice for your big day.
