One of the most exciting times in the new year is when spring break rolls around. Spring break is the perfect reprieve from the monotony of the new year's routine and offers a chance to get away for a full seven days. Planning a spring break vacation can be stressful if you don't think ahead. Here are seven tips for planning the perfect spring break trip.

7 Tips for planning the perfect spring-break getaway

1.     Make a budget. Let's start with the most obvious. Before you start planning your trip and booking hotels and flights, it's important to decide how much you want to spend on your spring break getaway. This means you have to decide on your vacation style. Are you going all out, or are you looking for something a little more reserved?

2.    Decide where you want to go. Once your budget is set, you can start looking at places to vacation. For some people, the ideal spring break involves hot sun and sandy beaches. For others who already live in warm climates, they may be seeking a spring break trip to the mountains for a week full of winter sports.

3.    Make a bucket list. To make sure you do everything you want to do during your spring break week, make a bucket list. Write down everything you would like to accomplish on your week away, including a reading list, shopping plans, and sightseeing locations. With all of your spring break goals written down, you can start making a plan to accomplish them.

4.    Delegate tasks. If you're traveling with company, then the best way to make sure everything gets done is to start delegating tasks. While one person may be in charge of booking the flights and securing a rental car, another person can be in charge of picking a hotel, and a third person can be in charge of planning the day's activities.

5.    Schedule things in advance. The last thing you want to do is wait until the last minute to book your flights and hotels. If you wait until the last minute, then the chances of you getting exactly what you want are slim to none. To make sure you get everything you want out of your spring break vacation, you need to schedule everything you can in advance. It’s never too early to book your flight or your hotel.

6.    Use Apps. At this point, there's an app for literally everything. In some top vacation spots, there may even be an app for the city to let you know what events are happening around town. Don’t hesitate to use as many apps as you need to plan your vacation adequately and easily.

No matter if you are traveling with a group of friends, your family, or traveling solo, it's important to spend a little time planning. Planning your trip in advance will allow you to save money, avoid stress, and ultimately ensure that you have the spring break vacation of your dreams.
